At Rival Foods we develop, assemble and commission state-of-the-art machines that will be used in the production of next-generation plant-based food products. Rival Foods has its own test facilities to assemble and test production equipment, and has its own laboratories where own developed and commercial testing equipment is used to optimize process and formulation of end products. As technician you will be responsible for the proper functioning of all equipment, from assembly onwards. Also, you will get to track down errors, formulate design optimizations and program improvements together with our engineering team. Your profile:

  • Technical background and interest
  • Interest and understanding of machines
  • Basic understanding of electronics and PLC/software programs; and/or
  • Basic understanding of electric motors and motor controllers; and/or
  • Basic understanding of materials and mechanical design
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Eager to get things done with your hands-on mentality
  • Experienced in working with (power) tools for metal applications
  • Experience in working with lab equipment


  • Get to work with completely new machines and machine parts
  • Assemble and test new machines for our pilot facility
  • Think of new solutions for technical problems
  • Debug machine problems hands-on
  • Manage all equipment in the Pilot facility and the lab
  • Develop safety protocols for the pilot facility and the lab
  • Develop new lab set-ups for new research challenges in the lab
  • Help in commissioning our pilot production machines in our pilot facility
  • Debug mechanical and electronic errors and formulate solutions
  • Help the engineering team with specific mechanical design challenges
